Join GLOV for an important community forum on anti-gay violence in DC. Representatives from the United States Attorneys Office (USAO) in the Department of Justice will join with members of the DC LGBT community on Thursday for the event.

The purpose of this forum is to share ideas and information, to learn how cases are handled by the USAO, and — most importantly – to begin an important dialogue that will hopefully lead to better trust and communication between the DC LGBT community and the USAO, which prosecutes cases where we are victims.

Attendees from the USAO will include (subject to last-minute availability issues) Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Kevin Flynn (lead prosecutor in the Tony Hunter case), AUSA George Eliopoulis (the Hate/Bias Crimes Case Coordinator for the DOJ), AUSA Kim Her (Chief of the Victim/Witness Assistance Unit), and Albert Herring (Executive Assistant US Attorney for External Affairs and Chair of DC’s Hate Crimes Task Force, of which GLOV is a member).
