This weekend is going to be so filled with art, music, fashion, and more art, that you would think we were really in the land of Bohemia (which, in the world of RENT, is New York City). The big news is that RENT is playing through Sunday, but if you’ve already seen the show or it just isn’t your thing, have a gander at the other events for this weekend and support real starving artists trying to make it in a Southern city that doesn’t always provide shelter for creatives in its midst.

Tonight

Get lost in Bohemia tonight for RENT at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. The cast includes Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp from the original cast and the film and will be playing through the end of the weekend. TBPAC, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place, 7:30 p.m., 07/10 8 p.m., 07/11 2 and 8 p.m., 07/12 1 and 6:30 p.m., Tickets start at $39.

Friday

Explore the Dali Museum and enjoy hopping tunes by the energetic jazz band Lounge Cat at S’Real Fridays. The entertainment will include silent movies, free appetizers, and a cash bar. Admission is half off after 5 p.m., which is convenient, because that’s when the fun starts. Salvador Dali Museum, 1000 3rd Street South, St. Petersburg, 5 p.m., $8.50 (or $17 for admission before 5 p.m.).

Saturday

Witness a heap of trash transformed into tresure at the TRA’shion Fashion Show at the ARTpool Gallery and Boutique. The event featurs top local designers showing off one of a kind recycled fashion. ARTpool Gallery and Boutique, 919 First Avenue North, St. Petersburg, 6 p.m., Tickets start at $15.

Geri X, Sons of Hippies, GreyMarket, and Villanova Junction will be performing at New World Brewery. Sons of Hippies are also releasing their new CD. New World Brewery, 1313 East 8th Avenue, Ybor, 9 p.m., $7.
