What a great week to be in Salt Lake City! Here’s a fine, if not too long, list of events for 7/9 – 7/16.
Thursday
- You can’t miss the first night of the 2009 Twilight Concert Series line-up!! Bon Iver and Jenny Lewis will provide a FREE evening of entertainment at Gallivan Center on 7/9. For additional information, visit the Twilight Concert Series web site. 239 S Main St, Salt Lake City. 7 – 10 pm every Thursday until August 27th.
- After the Twilight Concert, head to the Urban Lounge for the queer alternative dance party, Mister Transistor. The DJ duo Ted Dancin’ will also be there. Details: 241 S 500 E, 9 pm, or visit the Urban Lounge web site. It’s also the birthday of TNG’s Chris Nelson, so come out to celebrate his 30th successful orbit around the sun.
Friday
- Join your fellow cyclists for Blackout Hustle and see 20 miles of Salt Lake’s diverse neighborhoods without a windshield in your way. Pace will be brisk. Details: Meet up, 9:30 at the Coffee Garden, 9th S and 9th E, Salt Lake City. 9:30 pm. Visit Salt Cycle for more information.
- The ever-pleasant Cowboy Junkies headline the Snowbird Mountain Music Festival. For additional information visit the Mountain Music Festival web site.
- Salt Lake City’s own fantastic country-western Band of Annuals will perform at the Urban Lounge with another SLC local, David Williams . Details: 241 S 500 E, 9 pm, or visit the Urban Lounge web site.
Saturday
- Get over your hangover and get up early for the 2nd Annual Tour De Slurpee Bike Ride. Take advantage of 7-11’s free 7.11 oz Slurpee offer today, 7/11, between 7 am and 11 pm. Two rides will provide you with enough sugar to kill a large diabetic animal. Both start at Gallivan Center at 7:11 am. Visit Salt Cycle for more information.
