In Case You Missed It: The Week in Review

This post was submitted by John "Jolly" Bavoso

summer_blossomsWelcome to the weekend, folks! We’re officially done with the first week of June, and for braving the rain and humidity it looks like we’ll be rewarded with beautiful weather for the beginning of this year’s Pride festivities. If part of your week involved getting behind on your reading, we’ve got you covered. Below is a sampling of what we had to offer over the past few days.

This week on TNG, in case you missed it…

In Commentary

  • Corey heralded the beginning of summer fling season via a post called The Fling that Flung.
  • We discovered The Meaning of Life in our weekly installment of It’s Easy Being Green.
  • Zack rambled about summer and why he’s never going back to Rehoboth.
  • With word that The Real World is heading for DC, Amelie took us In the Ladies’ Room to discuss the changing ways that show has handle queer issues. Do you agree with her assessment?
  • Summer Camp, TNG’s resident drag queen advice columnist, tackled dealing with bad kissers. Did you find her advice useful?
  • Speaking of drag queens, the Indie Rock Fag tackled drag queens vs. kings and other issues in a post entitled Kind of a Drag.

In Music

  • Rocky, full of Glee this week, put out the call for an adult show choir and filled everyone in on What We’re Listening To. He even provided a mixtape to back it up. Wanna help out with the choreography?
  • Ponytail’s Molly Siegel took us on the road with her and her band with the first installment of her tour diary.

In Politics

  • We celebrated as New Hampshire became the latest state to officially legalize gay marriage.
  • Matt’ talked about his impatience to see equality become a reality in his Dispatches from Left Field column. Do you feel the same way?
