Your Morning Upper: Party Like It’s 1989

This post was submitted by John "Jolly" Bavoso

Mornings suck. So every morning TNG brings you a fun video to ease the pain.

When I saw this video on The Daily Dish of Williamsburg hipsters paying homage to The Breakfast Club while dancing to one of my favorite songs, Phoenix’s “Lisztomania,” it made me smile. While I wouldn’t go as far as calling it blasphemy, it did make me long to see what would happen if you combined the original actors with the recent song and then threw in even more 80′s movie goodness. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one. Above is a mash-up of clips of the Brat Pack dancing along to the song, which is yet another sign that the 80s are making a genuine cultural comeback. Whether you think that’s a good thing or not, I dare you to not start dancing around your office immediately.

So, that was Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Footloose and… Mannequin? Anything else I’m missing? Never saw Footloose nor Mannequin myself.
