Weekend Preview: Tampa Weekend Preview: Super Scene Edition
Event Details: Tampa Weekend Preview: Super Scene Edition - :

Nine Inch Nails will perform this Saturday.
What this weekend doesn’t provide in quantity it makes up with quality. There are three very different events that speak to very different subsets of the culture.
Whether you want to paint your nails black and get your groove on, jam to ripped beats about Star Wars and computer culture, or listen to mellow tunes while supporting a good cause, you’ll find something that fits your lifestyle in Tampa this weekend.
Saturday
Grab your most tattered fishnest and blackest eyeliner and head on out to the Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction concert. Transport yourself back to a time where ethereal, gritty music was changing lives and preparing the cultural landscape for the emos, goths, and scene kids of today. Ford Amphitheatre, 4802 US 301 North, 7 p.m. $19 and up.
Get your geek on with MC Chris with I am the Dream and Cracker Jackson at The Orpheum in Ybor and discover nerdcore, the nerdy, white answer to hip-hop. The Orpheum, 1902 Republica de Cuba, Ybor, 6 p.m., $14 through Daddy Kool Records.
Sunday
Take back the night tonight at the Take Back the Night Mother’s Day Benefit at Skipper’s Smokehouse. In its 14th year, the event will feature music by Sugar and Spice w/ Southside Horns, Women’s Blues Revue, George Pappas, Linda Faust, and Tammy Hatch. The show is raising money for area organizations that shelter women and educate them about domestic violence. Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, 5 p.m. $7.
