Gotta love North Beach!
Memorial weekend is a big festival weekend in Chicago. It’s the first official opening of all the Chicago beaches including Oak beach with its gorgeous view of downtown, North beach with Castaways, a full bar and restaurant, and the very gay friendly Hollywood beach with men of all kinds with leering eyes. There are many festivals in town this weekend including The International Mr. Leather, The Grabbys and Bear Pride. There also many other events to keep you occupied if you aren’t a hairy porn star that loves assless chaps including concerts, theatre shows, camping, women’s tackle football, and speed dating!
All Weekend
The International Mr. Leather festival, a fesitval with different markets, competitions and parties for all lovers of leather is holding events at the Chicago Hilton downtown.
The Grabbys, which honor performers and industry veterans who have advanced the art and business of adult gay video, are also in town, holding assorted events around Halsted st.
The 15th Annual Bear Pride is also having events all around this weekend all around the city for men who are big, strong and hair and the men who love them.
Friday May 22
Permoveo Productions presents: Haram Iran, a play in which two Iranian teenage boys are sentencied for crimes against God. 7:30pm, Center on Halsted, 3656 N Halsted, $25.
Bohemian Theatre Ensemble presents: La Cage aux Folles, a play from which the Nathan Lane and Robin Williams’ movie, The Birdcage, was based from. 8 pm, Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont Ave, $27.

The Chicago Force, Chicago’s own woman’s tackle football team faces the Minnesota Vixens! 3 pm, Holmgren Athletic Complex, 3225 West Foster Avenue, $10.
Rock and electronic music powerhouses Richard Morel and Bob Mould continue to add cities to the roster for their wildly successful dance party, Blowoff. 11 pm, The Metro, 3730 N. Clark St. $15
Sunday May 24
