Chicago may have rainy weather but there are tons of things to keep you busy including music festivals, art galleries, and scooter rides. If you’re lucky enough to know someone who goes to DePaul University, hopefully you can con them into buying you a ticket to their end of the year FEST featuring N.E.R.D, HelloGoodbye and the night time act of the awesome Chicago hometown heroes Flosstrodamas. TNG Chicago Editor Adam will be there so don’t be scared to say hi.
Thursday May 28th
- The Asians and Friends Chicago (AFC) members invite you to “Gaysia: A Night in The Orient“, an Asian-themed night at Wild Pug. Drinks special available. Wild Pug, 4810 N. Broadway Ave, 9pm, Free.
- Around the Coyote Spring Arts Festival is a weekend long festival where painters, sculptors, photographers, installation artists, printmakers, filmmakers, actors, performance artists, musicians and poets will exhibit, sell and perform their work in a variety of large and small venues throughout West Town. The Splat Flats, 1817 W Division St., 7pm, $10-$100.
Saturday May 30
- Allan Spiers Photography: presents Urbanity, a photo collection of refined form and style of the effortless beauty of men. Concord Galleria, 1348 W Concord Place 2nd Floor, 10am, Free.
- Atmosphere bar presents Drinking for a Difference is donating 25% of it’s Saturday nights take-in toward Dale Kozak’s participation in Ride AIDS Chicago (A two-day, 180-mile, bicycling event created by volunteers and designed to raise needed monies for Test Positive Aware Network and others.) Atmosphere, 5355 N. Clark St., 8pm, Free.
- Sappic Adventures presents: Brunch with Sappic Adventures, a meet and greet with a group of fun-loving professional women of all ages and races. For more information on location, join the group at http://www.sapphicadventures.org/
- The 25th annual Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival is a music, arts and crafts festival that shows the style of the area. Corner of Belmont Ave and Sheffield Ave, Noon, $5.
Sunday May 31
- Hell’s Fairies, Chicago’s LGBT scooter group, presents Frank Lloyd Wride to Oak Park, a nice afternoon ride to Oak Park. Scooter not provided. Seriously, bring your own scooter. The Coffee Studio, 5628 N Clark St, Noon, Free.
- The West Suburban Gay Association present a Picnic and Concert. Bring your own lunch and enjoy the sounds of the Great Lakes Naval Band. Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton, 1pm, Free.
