Don’t like the “usual” at Town? Neither do we.

The management at Town Danceboutique recently agreed to let TNG throw a dance party at their venue. Boy, are they in for a surprise.

We will be filling the downstairs dance floor of Town with hard-edged rock, dance punk and retro, and all the boys, girls and transfolk who never before found Town to be their kind of space.

Town is just a building. Let’s SEIZE it for a night and make it fun.

Saturday . May 30 . 11 PM – 4 AM . $12* . 21+
Town Danceboutique . 2009 8th St NW. downstairs
Doors 9 PM. No entry after 2:30 AM, Club open until 4 AM
* $8 before 11 PM.

Thanks for the comment. The Town website (http://www.towndc.com) states that Saturday nights are “$12 all night”.

I’ll check with the management to see what the deal is.

You may be right. I’m going off of an email I got from them (I’m on their email list) which says, in part:

“For MAY…
It is only $5 to get in on from 9-11pm Fridays (if you are 21 and over)
It is only $8 to get in from 9-11pm on Saturdays”

Since the event is May 30, I assume that applies. I’m definitely not trying to create any confusion, though, so I’ll wait to see what you hear back from mgmt.

Sounds like a great event either way!

so… did anyone else think last night was just like any other night at town, except we went because we read a catchy alt-gay dance party name for it on thenewgay.net? i guess i was expecting something like mixtape or taint or homo/sonic 2.0 and don’t feel i got that. i had a fun time, don’t get me wrong, but i probably could have had the same fun time any other saturday at town. last night had very little if not zero thenewgay.net flair to it. thoughts??

I’d say it’s lipstick on a pig syndrome. For someone who goes to Town on normal nights, it’s hard to get an entirely new vibe from the place just by changing the music, you know?

Unrelated, the guy in the scooter rocking out made me happy.
