Washington DC: 5/23 – ‘Blueprint’ Screening @ DC Black Pride Pure Throwback Film Festival
Event Details: 5/23 - 'Blueprint' Screening @ DC Black Pride Pure Throwback Film Festival - :

NO – you don’t have to be Black nor Gay. Isn’t that a component of The New Gay? If you have a love for indie film – Blueprint is for you:
Blueprint is the story of Keith and Nathan, college freshmen attending school in New York City.  In a city full of romantic possibilities, it takes a lot more than tight abs, bubble butt, frequent shape-ups framing a pretty face to win a guy over. Shucks — I see that guy on the A train all day every day.  But I digress!
Watch the trailer here.
The blueprint: One afternoon as Keith – from California – sits alone in a Harlem coffee shop just off campus laboring whether college is the right choice for him at this particular point of confusion in his young life. Nathan – from Brooklyn – spots Keith, steps in and attempts to swoop Keith up. At first glance, Keith and Nathan seemingly have nothing in common besides youth, overt beauty and ferociously independent personalities. However, it is all of those not so visible traits which magnetize Keith and Nathan.
Blueprint is my debut feature film. It has screened in over twenty-five (25) film festivals throughout the world including Asia, Africa, Europe and America. Blueprint and I have received editorial coverage in L’Uomo Vogue: “Birth of an Indie”, OUT Magazine’s OUT100: “The Visionary”, Black Enterprise Magazine’s Hollywood Issue: “Trailblazer” and Uptown Magazine included me in its “35 to Watch in Hollywood” list.
Growing up in Baltimore, I did not dream nor plan to be a filmmaker. However, after seeing movies like My Beautiful Laundrette, Maurice, Do the Right Thing and Menace II Society – I knew I was in there somewhere!  But where? So I exited Howard University and headed to film school in Southern California.
Blueprint screened as a first look/incomplete version at Reel Affirmations back in 2007. It is wonderful to be back in DC with the completed version. Come see my flick and join me and members of the crew for a Q & A following Blueprint.Â
