There is a rally at the State Capitol on Saturday, May 16th at 1PM for equal marriage rights. Meet on the steps!

Third Grader organizes local marriage equality rally
Ethan McNamee, a third grader at Montclair Elementary School, has organized a Rally for Marriage Equality to take place on the west steps of the State Capitol building in Denver on Saturday, May 16 at noon.
McNamee is working with his teacher, Kyle Kimmal, and his mother, Tracy Edwards, to organize the rally. He became interested in marriage equality when he started to see inequities in the system.
“A lot of our friends have had to go out of state to get married,” says Edwards, who is straight.
So far, McNamee has gotten the permit he needs and has invited Mayor John Hickenlooper, Rep. Jared Polis and state Rep. Mark Ferrandino to speak. Those wanting more information about the rally or who want to suggest speakers should e-mail Kyle Kimmal [at kyle_kimmal@dpsk12.org].
