As always, I’ve valiantly taken some time out of my work week to listen to a number of new CDs this week and let you know which are worth your time and which wouldn’t even be suitable to using as frisbees.

Recommended?: For any activity that would actually involve wearing a drug rug.

Recommended?: Very highly, though I do wonder what would happen sans distortion.

Who the hell are they?: Scottish lo-fi pop pioneers celebrated on two-disc reissues

Recommended?: Yes, though “The Way of…” is more essential than “Enter the…”

the legends sans distortion = the first record which is sunny pop, the second record moody joy division, and the third record full on new order. this new one is very jamc, but there is less distortion than the single hinted at. if you like them you should check out his other bands, club 8 (the girl singing on the record), acid house kings (a band with his brother), and pallers (his electronic side project, reminiscent of the 2nd and 3rd legends records). hell anything on labrador records is good (especially radio dept.)
