Event Details: Tampa Weekend Preview: Get Trashed Edition - :

Get trashed at The Sawmill's Sordid Lives Weekend.Somewhere along the way, between Del Shores and John Waters, small southern towns became synonymous with trash culture. And, trash became synonymous with camp. When I think “trailer park,” I think of a small dusty corner of a small southern town with a legion of quirky locals drinking beer at a communal picnic table while discussing NASCAR or Jerry Springer. I’ve spent enough time in enough of these parks to know this isn’t a scenario that’s too far from the truth.

At some point this kind of image, of women with their hair in rollers lounging around in their housecoats and their husbands tinkering under their muscle cars in trucker hats and overalls, became camp of the highest order. The Sawmill in Dade City is taking advantage of this image with their Sordid Lives Weekend, lasting from Friday through Sunday. If the thought of camping it up and camping out all trashed up doesn’t float your boat, then consider the other events up for grabs in the area this weekend.
