Your Morning Upper: Nubble Bubble
Mornings suck. So every morning TNG brings you a fun video to ease the pain.
I love stand-up comedians of the female persuasion – Ellen, Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, Margaret Cho, Sarah Silverman, etc. – I eat it up. I’m also always intrigued by learning how comedians started out in life and how it affects their comedy. So when I saw a special by Aisha Tyler (whom a friend refers to as “that girl that ruined Friends“) a few months ago, it was the introduction that I really remembered. Finally, someone put it online and now I can share it with everyone.
While Aisha’s biographical rap could probably be the inspiration for an entire class on racial stereotypes in the US, because it’s Friday morning, I choose to focus on the fact that the entire piece is built around her being an African American woman with “No Ass At All.” I find this funny because this is one area where I was genetically, um, gifted (thanks, Mom!). And, if none of that gets you, the guy she buys her burritos from isn’t terrible to look at.
