Hello, Tampa!

Starting today, The New Gay will include information about alternative culture in Tampa, Florida.
There are many reasons Tampa has been included in TNG. A few of them are: a vibrant nightlife, a unique historical district, a rich art scene, the large number of indie theaters that are located in the area, and a local gay culture that could be better represented when it comes to things to do and the places to see and be seen.
Because TNG: Tampa is just starting out, we’re going to need your help.
Do you consider yourself an expert in the Tampa indie scene?
Do you find yourself biting your tongue when you read a local theatre review blasting (or praising) the newest dramatic offerings?
Are you tired of the same old articles detailing what The Senator did at The Castle over the weekend or hyping up the same overpriced clubs and mainstream concerts week after week?
Do you have your ear open to Tampa’s queer gossip pipeline to the extent that you always know when and where the area’s hippest parties will take place?
If any of this sounds familiar, then The New Gay would like to hear from you! We’re looking for Tampa locals to cover live music, theatre, art, events, and nightlife with an alternative queer perspective.
If interested, please email tampa@thenewgay.net with a little bit about you and why you’d make a great addition to TNG.

Go Tampa!
Certain parts area a liberal bubble in the midst of conservative Florida, and I’m not saying that just because I grew up there.
I was just in Tampa/St. Pete two weekends ago, and found myself doing all the things I’d do here – went to see the Ting Tings, hung out and listened to great music, caught up on all the crazy criminal shenanigans – hey, it’s just like DC, but warmer!
Yes! I’m a Floridian who lives in DC!
Both of my homes in one website, you say?
