Washington DC: Mark Your Calendars: Peaches and Pansy Division in April
Event Details: Mark Your Calendars: Peaches and Pansy Division in April - :
Music lovers, rejoice. People who wish we put on more events: rejoice as well. The second half of April will see TNG throwing two new events that we think you might enjoy. This is what they are:
1. On Friday, April 17 24th, we’ll be giving our fans an exclusive preview of the upcoming Peaches album,” I Feel Cream,” at our Peaches listening party. The queer queen of electro-filth won’t actually be releasing the disc until early May, but we’re going to give everyone a chance to hear it early. The party will be held at queer-owned 14th St. used furniture mecca Miss Pixies. The party will be held at queer-friendly DC9, home of Taint and the birthplace of Crack. We’ll have a sponsorship from PBR as well, so prepare to enjoy drinking cheap beer.
Most excitingly, we’ll be putting together a Peaches lip-sync contest where the winners will receive copies of the new CD. Those interested in entering can email me at Zack@thenewgay.net.
2. The following Monday, April 20th, those not lying at home in a puddle of bong water and Dorito crumbs can come out to the Flashpoint Gallery for an evening with Pansy Division frontman Jon Ginoli. Ginoli will be screening the recently-released documentary Pansy Division: Life in a Gay Rock Band, answering some questions from the audience and playing a couple of his joyfully dirty songs. Come to think of it, both of these events should be ideal for those who like R (or worse) rated music.
There will be more details about both of these events forthcoming. Stay tuned. In the meantime, check out a Peaches and Pansy Division sampler below:
