It’s with great pleasure that I announce our first post geared to another city. TNG reader and former DC resident Jeff has taken the lead in getting people in Denver engaged with The New Gay. Jeff has submitted the following events for your Rocky Mountain consideration. If you’re in Denver and want to help out, please contact Jeff and see event #1 below.
As we’ve said before, we’re branching out into other cities. If you are a TNG reader in another city and want to get involved building community in your town, please let us know.
1) TNG Denver Kick-off Meeting
Are you tired of gay Denver being defined by the same bars and clubs? Are you over the lesbians in one corner, gays in another, bisexuals left to fend for themselves? Do you want something different? Come join TNG (The New Gay) a group of queer people actively promoting and creating a new queer culture void of racial, spatial, gender, clothing, hair, or any other boundaries. Bring something to eat or drink and a brain ready to squirt out some fresh ideas!

3) Lip Gloss @ La Rumba
In the restaurant world, you’re considered a success if you still have a standing wait after being in business for a certain amount of time. That said, Lipgloss is the club equivalent of the French Laundry. Founded in 2001 by the Denver 3 (now the Denver 2 since Tim Cook has parted ways with Lipgloss co-founders Michael Trundle and Tyler Jacobson), the ‘Gloss remains the hottest brand going. Six years in, there’s still a line down the block leading to La Rumba, Lipgloss’s home. Except now that line starts forming almost as soon as the doors open. Weekly listening parties and continually diverse playlists have made Lipgloss the choice destination for Denver’s hipsters and rock’s royalty; everyone from Franz Ferdinand to Peter Hook has stopped by. This kiss should be on your lips.
