On Friday December 12, 2008, LGBTs and their supporters came together at Halo to support the organization, “Out For Work.” Tim Gunn traveled back to his home town of D.C. to host the event, sell some of his own merchandise, and have face time with the people supporting this important organization.
Gunn’s presence was truly special, and he made time to speak with every attendee of the event. His genuine, fun and humorous demeanor punctuated the night with a true sense of camaraderie and gave each person a unique experience to remember. Half way through the event, Gunn made a short speech about his tremendous support for “Out For Work,” using his own success as an example of how powerful acceptance and education is in any professional field. He also noted how thrilled he was to see such fashionable people in an often “fashionably challenged district.” Oh, Tim. We love you.
