Event Details: Dec. 17: Qweer Qwiz Night - :

The following event post was submitted by TNG friend Tate.

Q. This Harlem Renaissance blues singer was one of the most famous bulldaggers of the period, writing songs about female lovers and wearing her famous tux and top hat. Who is she?

It’s a hard one, isn’t it? Don’t worry, they’re not all so bad.

Qweer Qwiz night is where it’s at on Wednesday, December 17 at 8 PM. Come to Be Bar and wrack your brain, by yourself or with up to 7 friends! It’s team against team with lesbian-themed trivia – and we’ll have you laughing all night long. And it’s for a good cause, too! DCQWW’s Qweer Qwiz benefits SMYAL, the Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League. SMYAL promotes and supports self-confident, healthy, productive lives for LGBTQ youth as they journey from adolescence into adulthood.

A well-needed addition to queer nightlife in DC, the DC Queer Welcome Wagon (DCQWW) plans fun events around town to get everyone involved in community teambuilding to support great causes. Last month’s lesbian speed dating event raised money for My Sister’s Place and resulted in more than a few love connections.

So join us for a great night of trivia! Eight rounds of 8 questions, with the top team winning VIP treatment at Be Bar that evening (free bottle and mixers for you and your teammates!). A holiday drawing- tickets just $2 each- will yield fantastic prizes from:

Sugar – Sugar is a lesbian owned, women and trans operated, for profit, mission driven sex toy store. By providing education and toys in a shame-free, sex-positive environment, they help people of all genders and sexual orientations experience their own unique sexuality with shameless joy and passion.

Jacq from Sugar will be setting up and selling her wares at Be Bar – so bring some extra cash to purchase great gifts for loved ones or yourself!
