Ticket Giveaway: Amanda Palmer, plus Meet n’ Greet Passes and Autographed CD
Bisexual musician Amanda Palmer is best known as one half of baroque cabaret-pop duo The Dresden Dolls, but this year she has struck out on her own in support of her new solo album Who Killed Amanda Palmer. As evinced by her song Oasis, a chipper ditty about rape and abortion, Palmer’s music uses theatrical flourishes to piano music that covers a broad and often macabre range of subjects.
TNG has two pairs of free tickets, autographed CDs and meet N’ Greet passes (to say hi to Amanda in person) for the two people who leave the most compelling reason for getting such swag in the comments to this post. I’ll be deciding this contest on the early side, so the sooner the better. And remember to also email your answer to Zack@Thenewgay.net.
This should be really good show and I encourage people to go for the tickets. I’ll be posting an interview with Amanda later today and you can check out a mixtape of her music below the fold.

I believe I deserve these tickets because I can sing/rap along to every word of Amanda Palmer’s new album. Now this may not seem too impressive however “Runs in the Family” is no small feat.
I also dreamt I had her eyebrows two nights ago.
Yesssssssss.
I deserve the swag because Amanda wore my favourite striped tights for that picture and now they don’t fit me anymore. :-(

TNG started off as a DC-based blog/website for alternative queer culture, events and commentary, but we've realized our writing and concept isn't applicable only to DC. We're working to expand into other cities throughout the US. Here's how you can help:* Become a city events editor.
In order to be a good fit for helping us out, you have to meet two criteria: you need to be prepared to spend some time at this, and you need to be frustrated with the current status of queer culture in your town. If you think you have what it takes, please let us know by emailing info@thenewgay.net.* Write for TNG.
