Event Details: Weekend Events: Sonic Circuits, Ganymede, SPX, and More - :

I hope you’re invigorated by the brisk fall weather because there are about a million things to do this weekend. I’m going to list the highlights here, but check out the calendar for the full list of upcoming events. Remember to mention any events that we’ve missed in the comments or e-mail us at events@thenewgay.net.

Tonight:

  • Equinox at the Velvet Lounge: The Sonic Circuits Festival of Experimental Music will be showcasing experimental and avant-garde electronic music through Sunday. Tonight local queer rocker Hugh McElroy will be joining the lineup with Saran Malene M. as they perform as Equniox. Details: Velvet Lounge, 915 U St. NW, 9 p.m., $8, 18+.

Saturday:

  • Matmos at Velvet Lounge: Sonic Circuits continues Saturday afernoon and night with an impressive lineup. Be sure to check out Matmos — the band might play cow parts or crayfish. Read more about the group on TNG before the show. Details: Velvet Lounge, 915 U St. NW, 2:30 p.m. (Matmos performs around 10:30 p.m.), $10, 18+.

Sunday:

  • SPX 2008 at the Bethesda North Marriott: It’s a good weekend for comic book fans. I don’t know much about SPX, but read what coach had to say about the expo on TNG. Details: Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road, Bethesda (across from the White Flint Metro), noon to 6 p.m., $8. For more information about SPX, including Saturday’s hours and the price of weekend passes, check out the SPX website.

It would be great if the links for Mirror Script or anything else were not Facebook pages. I don’t have an account and can’t get the info. And, no, I do not want an account on Facebook.
