Thursday: TNG "First Birthday" Party

Event Details: Thursday: TNG "First Birthday" Party - :

Happy Birthday to us! The New Gay is celebrating its first birthday and you’re invited. We believe the best way to meet new people at our events is to show up early, and to help this we have ordered 100 cupcakes from Sticky Fingers. We’ll be giving them out until they’re gone. You can meet some new people while stuffing yourself with vegan frosting. As always, our parties are co-ed, trans-inclusive, straight-friendly and will feature good music.

Thanks to all our readers for getting TNG to where it is now. We couldn’t have done it without you.

TNG “First Birthday” Party: Thursday, October 16. 8 PM – Midnight. Solly’s, 1942 11th St., NW, at U St. And once again: Free cupcakes!

Download, print and post your own flyers:

What a minute? I’m confused. Didn’t TNG start in July of 2007? I thought the first TNG Party was the V-day party in Feb 2008. How is this a birthday party?

Good question, anonymous. You’re right on both accounts. Ben and Michael and I started working on TNG in July of 07, but didn’t actually tell anyone about it until October 1st. So this birthday party reflects our launch, not our actual creation.

And the first Solly’s part did in fact start on V-day, but that’s not the birthday we’re celebrating. If the cupcakes are a hit maybe we’ll have them again on Feb. 14th of next year.
