Local gay poet Dan Vera has just released his first book, The Space Between Our Danger and Delight (Beothuk Books). As part of the book release party, he’ll be reading tonight (with Michael Gushue) at 7:30 p.m. at the independent Riverby Books on Capitol Hill (417 E. Capitol St.). Vera’s poetry has been billed as “clear, strong, honest, and funny” by Martin Espada and Grace Cavalieri said that “To read Dan Vera is to believe that the world is actually a good place after all.” In these troubled times, what better recommendation could there be?
