Music: Tonight: Secrets Between Sailors at Polly’s
Event Details: Tonight: Secrets Between Sailors at Polly's - :
Secrets Between Sailors formed a couple of years ago as a super group pulling talent from three different group houses. Their backgrounds range from classically-trained violist to d.i.y. cello enthusiast, and influences from riot grrl to cuddlecore. Their songs embrace bittersweet transitions, changes in attitudes and latitudes, even dressing some Emily Dickinson up as a sentimental sea shanty. Considering their lyrical gist, it’s sadly apropos that tonight’s show will be a fin de siecle of sorts for the sailors. Three quarters of the group are heading to the Bay Area, and it’ll be their last show in a long time. If you come to the show, I’ll be the fool in the back sobbing into my cheap and refreshing can of beer. Yes, Palace, it’s true that San Francisco Sucks Sometimes.
Come out and support this almost completely queer line-up of local musicians–including Youngstown transplant Pops the Corn and Fox Montgomery from Girl Loves Distortion. SBS will have their homemade EP for sale, but otherwise, this joint is completely gratis.
