There are quite a few fun events this weekend outside the gay mainstream. Unfortunately, most of them are happening on the same night. At the same time. Try to squeeze in as many as you can. Here’s the run-down.

Friday:

• 8:00 PM: Slut Night II at Phase 1. Think girls gone wild, queer lady style. Bring out your inner slut. Boys, make sure you have a lady in tow.
• 9:30 PM: Queer-friendly dance party SORTED. Britpop, Soul, Indie Pop w/ DJ Stereo Faith, Black Cat backstage. $5

Saturday:

• 10:00 AM: Yes, the queer-friendly bike ride is still happening. It’s supposed to be really HOT this weekend, so bring lots of water and leave the cotton t-shirts at home. Check out the ride reports to see some pictures and get a feeling for the rides we do.
• 2:00 PM: While there is no special event this weekend, the Saturdgays will be out in full force. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in a beautiful park with like-minded homos.
• 8:00 PM: Queering Sound 08, pixelation — The annual staging of alternative performance . sound art . and spoken word . focusing on lesbian . gay . bisexual . post-gender-identified and queer artisans presented by the Triangle Artists Group. Admission gets you into Taint for free. $10
• 9:00 PM: Taint 4th Anniversary Party. Music by Shea Van Horn and Matt Bailer. Featuring live performance by Queering Sound performer PDSexton. $5
• 9:00 PM: M83 plays the mainstage at the Black Cat with opener The Berg Sans Nipple. $15. Call the club to find out what time the bands come on.
• 9:30 PM: Queerish electro band The Presets bring their brand of Australian dancable synthpop to the Rock and Roll Hotel. $13

Sunday:

• Take the day off, relax and recoup, and get ready for Pride weekend.
