June is Pride Month, and we’ve discussed Pride quite a bit on this site as of late. We’re still encouraging anyone who has a thought about Pride to submit a short post to share with the rest of the community. While other Pride celebrations have been going on during the month, the Capital Pride celebration is this weekend with lots of events, alternative or otherwise. Below is a albeit short list of TNG-encouraged pride events. For more mainstream events, you can check the other, more traditional sites. If you have any other recommendations, please let us know via email or post a comment.

Wednesday, 6/11: Community organizer Lisa C. Brook speaks at the Twinbrook Library in Rockville, MD.

Thursday, 6/12: Gay-larious returns for a special Pride event, featuring funny queer lady Judy Gold.

Friday, 6/13: Ladies Concert at the 9:30 Club, featuring Melissa Ferrick, Bitch, BETTY, drag kings, and more. After party follows, also at the club.

Saturday, 6/14: TNG presents Mousetrap: Pride Edition. TNG’s own Michael and Zack guest DJ at Mousetrap, DC’s longest running britpop/indie-rock dance party. Black Cat. $10. 18+ (Don’t get too drunk during or after the parade.)

Sunday, 6/15: Ladies closing party, Station 9.
