GR!DC House Party Saturday

I just found out that I’m going to have to channel my (very) inner Sam Ronson and put together a short set list for this Saturday’s Girls Rock D.C. benefit kegger. Ten lady djs, some pyro-performance art, a belly dancer, a raffled live painting collaboration between Lisa Thalhammer and DECOY, a commemorative button, tons of booze–all for five bucks.
And I have to somehow stay sober til three a.m. so I can play this song or this one (it’s a night of all lady music). The loosely suggested theme is come dressed as your favorite famous lady. I’m hoping Jenny revives her Billie Jean King ensemble.

I’m thinking of mixing it up a bit and going as Martina Navratilova.
who’s ever heard of dj’in sober?
and, jenny, i must say that i am often photographed during After Morning Sex Brunch. or maybe the cameras come out before brunch. *sigh* that’s why i’ll never be president.
For it is the case that no president has ever been caught on the record doing somethin’ naughty. Natty Boom for Prez!

TNG started off as a DC-based blog/website for alternative queer culture, events and commentary, but we've realized our writing and concept isn't applicable only to DC. We're working to expand into other cities throughout the US. Here's how you can help:* Become a city events editor.
In order to be a good fit for helping us out, you have to meet two criteria: you need to be prepared to spend some time at this, and you need to be frustrated with the current status of queer culture in your town. If you think you have what it takes, please let us know by emailing info@thenewgay.net.* Write for TNG.
