The Dodos, “Fools.”
I just got The Dodos‘ new album Visiter and I’ve been listening to it all day at work. One track, Jodi (first on their myspace page) has already gotten 15 repeats in the last two days. Its good. They’re a San Francisco band who take some of the experimental, noisy elements of artists like Animal Collective and make them accessible by adding more hooks and making the vocals the main element in their songs. They’re opening for Les Savy Fav at the Black Cat on April 4th, but I’m going to see them on Sunday at DC9. The venue’s smaller and I spend too much time at the Cat these days anyway.
The Dodos play this Sunday, 3/30 at DC9. Doors open at 9.
