Local: Saturday: OK Go and Two Funny Michaels

Event Details: Saturday: OK Go and Two Funny Michaels - :

Two things are going on this Saturday that I wanted to give you all the heads up about. Half from the goodness of my heart, and half because there are some upcoming “Ask A Straight Guys” from them and I wanted you to be informed. But anyway:

At the 930 club, OK Go will be playing a show to benefit an organization that gives aid to New Orleans musicians displaced by Katrina. The charity part is really cool, but I bet that OK Go would be also really fun live show. They’re best known for that video where they dance around on treadmills, but the video which preceded it, A Million Ways, had cooler dancing and a better actual song.

At the 6th and I Historic Synagogue, Michael Ian Black (left) and Michael Showalter will be appearing for a night of comedy. The duo have long been involved with comedy groups The State and Stella, but are probably best remembered for their roles in Wet Hot American Summer. Showalter was the nice guy who lost the girl to Paul Rudd and Black played the cute gay guy. You might wanna get tickets early.

No pimping for your act? I see you billed on Saturday for CRACK.

Also, Damian – the lead singer from OK GO – is a native of Cleveland Park. His parents still live there. I have a weird obsession with musicians from the District.

OKGO used to be really interesting. then they met up with the producers of franz ferdinand. now their sound has been deadened to a simple formula. thank you market forces.
