Music: Hot Homo Song Alert: Tegan and Sara’s "Back in your Head."
Tegan and Sara play GWU’s Lisner Auditorium on Saturday, November 24th. Way to schedule a show over Thanksgiving weekend, Tegan and Sara.
Its easy to get caught up in the commercial possibilities of lesbian twin sisters who perform music together, but Canada’s Tegan and Sara songs manage to trump their publicity. Since any lesbian duo’s reputation has been poisoned by the specter of the Indigo Girls, I was happy to find out that they rock. Really.
I award bonus points to this video for Tegan’s (or is it Sara’s? Damn twins) Stevie Nicks vocal impression, the creepy worm men sitting rapt in the audience and the drummer’s badass jolly roger tank-sweater.
