Washington DC: Saturday: Mousetrap
Mousetrap is at the Black cat main stage this Saturday, the 13th, starting at 9:30.
Mousetrap, Black cat’s monthly britpop dance party, is a lot like an old sweatshirt. Or an episode of Full House. Or this Mexican restaurant near my parents house in Chicago where I’ve ordered the same taco platter for since I was 7 and still look forward to going back.
I’ve reviewed mousetrap favorably and not-so-favorably, but the fact is there no other party where I can go and have such a reliable experience. I’ll recognize a lot of the faces, get drunker than I planned to and dance to a roster of songs that I know. While there might be something newer and better out there, who wants to take the time to go and find it?
