Washington DC: The N Street Pool
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation operates 33 pools in the District. The gayest of them resides behind the P Street Beach, on N and 25th.
Several of my friends have gone this summer, but I’ve only been once. Here’s what I’ve discovered:
-There are lots of hot men, many of them wearing very little.
-There are three separate swimming pools, each deeper than the other.
-There seem to be a large concentration of Euros and their families, which isn’t a problem.
-You need to get there by 12:30pm if you want a reclining lounge chair, otherwise you will on the concrete until you are able to nab a free chair. Most chairs become readily available after 3pm.
-The fence that lines the pool borders a stretch of the P Street Beach walkway that lies parallel to the road, so you have a clear view of the men who are trolling the area for public sex. This way, you can get a tan and feel trashy while doing it.
-It’s a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
